Unidentified Markings from Frank Drake  

 violet letters in two dimensions - 4 mm for capitals and 3 mm for non-capital letters, used in Hong Kong. Host adhesive is the 1891 QV 10c.  Is it I-30a Commercial Union Insurance Co.

Response: Yes it works. In that case it is a revenue marking, not a security marking. Unless someone contradicts me, there is not any security marking from Group I struck on a KGV adhesive. Usage of full name SM was discontinued (and illegal) before introduction of KGV adhesives.
